Andrés Reisinger is one of the most sought-after visual artists and designers of the 21st Century. He has conquered a unique position in contemporary culture, occupying and defining the fertile space between the digital and physical spheres. Originally from Argentina and currently residing in Spain between Madrid and Barcelona, where his studios are based, Reisinger bridges realms with an instantly recognisable aesthetic that conveys a mesmerisingly clear vision.
With his latest installation, visual artist and designer Andrés Reisinger transforms the Moco Museum Amsterdam into a mesmerising interactive environment where materiality and immateriality, reality and imagination, the organic and the constructed seamlessly converge.
The digital and immersive exhibition at Moco Museum Amsterdam features highlights such as a physical installation, Take Over Elastic, and a digital video artwork, How I write my stories. Both pieces explore the fluidity of space and thought, collectively embodying the unpredictable and ever-evolving nature of creation and form.
Argentinian-born visual artist and designer Andrés Reisinger represents a new evolution in contemporary art through his exploration of the space between digital and physical realms. Reisinger blends reality and fiction in architectural spaces and their interiors, challenging us to see the environments we occupy in a new light.
The How I write my stories video artwork investigates the mysterious origins of creativity, where ideas take root in hidden corners of the mind, growing beyond the reach of logic or control. Each narrative is a poetic visual that unfolds to reveal a life of its own, resisting definition and thriving on uncertainty. Reisinger does not shape these stories but rather observes their unique evolution, reflecting the unseen forces that drive the creative process.
Meanwhile, Take Over Elastic features monumental pink inflatable forms that envelop the exhibition space. These biomorphic inflatables challenge conception and suggest a more fluid and cosmic perspective. The unique environment by Reisinger embodies the dynamic tension of elasticity - flexibility versus rigidity, expansion versus limitation, and form versus formlessness.
Some of Reisinger’s most well known works include: The Shipping and Arcadia, which both fetched rarely seen before figures at auctions; Hortensia, the embodiment of Reisinger’s ethos and ever evolving artwork; the series Take Over, an unprecedented manifestation of experiential art transcending the boundaries between the physical and digital realms and travelling across the globe. In 2023, Reisinger also presented his first book ever Unclassifiable, conceived as a self-published limited-edition collectible item delving into his practice.
In December 2023, Take Over Miami, the first physical expressional of the digital series, emerged. This spectacular public art installation, showcased at the Miami Design District during Art Week 2023, infuses the city with a pink-hued creative energy. Reisinger becomes the author of the world’s first public art installation seamlessly transitioned from the digital canvas to the physical world.
