Moco Museum in Amsterdam
Modern / Contemporary Art Museum in Amsterdam
Moco is a proudly independent museum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands – born from an entrepreneurial spirit! The modern museum of Amsterdam is championed by its founders (Lionel & Kim Logchies) who lead by example: take the risk or lose the chance. The art-power couple previously started the Amsterdam art gallery Lionel Gallery, which quickly evolved into a beloved urban art house in Amsterdam.

Ever since the space takeover of Villa Alsberg, the modern art museum in Amsterdam has welcomed nearly 2 million visitors from over 120 different nations! Voice of the Streets
Although there is no official street art museum in Amsterdam, Moco embraces the voice of street art for its ability to connect people, challenge ideologies, and activate involvement. In Amsterdam, the art museum has made it a point to exhibit works from artists who encourage conversations about our world and shared existence.
The exhibition Icy & Sot: A Moment of Clarity features works from Iranian street artists, brothers, and activists. Their art involves themes of human rights, capitalism, social and political issues.
Above all, they draw attention to our global refugee crisis. Moreover, street art in Amsterdam includes Moco’s Laugh Now exhibition. In detail, the museum exhibits a collection of unique pieces – by the anonymous street artist Banksy – from private collections, which would otherwise remain unseen to the public. As it’s reflected in Moco’s collection of art, so too is the museum’s philanthropic support of charities such as Movement On The Ground, Aidsfonds, Metakids, and Green Peace.
