Banksy’s new interpretation of a classic
Leonardo DaVinci’s “Mona Lisa” is surely one of the most famous and celebrated paintings of all time. Due to its great fame, it might as well be one of the most imitated artworks of all time. Banksy himself did several versions of the painting. Mona Lisa carrying a bazooka, Mona Lisa with a giant smiley covering her face, and controversially Mona Lisa bending over, pulling up her dress, and showing the public her bare bottom. Banksy’s pink version is a little different: The stencilled-canvas is a mix of two different artists. Banksy combined the classical painting of DaVinci with the Pop Art style of Andy Warhol. This canvas as well exists in a bright green version.
