The Exhibition Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the development and execution of exhibitions of Moco Museum locations Amsterdam and Barcelona. You will manage project managers in each location and ensure that all exhibitions are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard. In addition to managing the complete exhibition life cycle, you will collaborate with museum staff and outside suppliers by building relationships, negotiating costs and evaluating services provided. You will develop budgets and timelines for each exhibition and monitor progress against them, working closely with the collections team to identify and secure loaned artworks for exhibitions. You will also collaborate with marketing and communications teams to develop exhibition-related marketing materials and strategies. Lastly you are the connection between the exhibition and operational teams to ensure quality control inside the museum and visitor experience. As teamlead you support the project managers to achieve the strategic goals for the museum that you have set-up.
A Monday like this excites you
You kick-start the day by joining the weekly facilities update and afterwards the weekly Collection & Exhibition start-up meeting. After grabbing a coffee, you lead the next weekly meeting with your Exhibition team. You check-in with them so you understand how they are doing and where they might need your help with in the coming week, always leading by example. Time to check your incoming emails, you review and provide feedback on marketing materials for an upcoming campaign about a new exhibition and the delivered production plan for the new upcoming exhibition. Now, time for lunch! In our gorgeous office space at our Head Quarters next to the Museumplein you have lunch with approximately 25 art lovers/colleagues that come from all over the world. After lunch you continue working on the Exhibition strategy and reporting for our museum in Amsterdam and Barcelona. Then, time for a visit to our Amsterdam museum to check if facilities is on schedule for the installation of a new artwork. Is it that late already? Time to go home!
